About Alpine Pass
A SimTraxx recreation of an Alpine mountain pass through the Swiss Alps — high-altitude switchbacks, narrow stone tunnels, and panoramic ridge views. The kind of road real-world driving enthusiasts plan trips around.
What you get with this mod
Realistic AI traffic for Alpine Pass. The mod ships pre-tuned spawn density and lane data; the actual cars are driven live by the 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App), which lets you adjust traffic density, spawn rules and behaviors while you drive.
This traffic mod adds AI vehicle traffic to Alpine Pass. The mod ships pre-tuned spawn density and lane data; the actual cars are managed live by the 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App), which lets you adjust traffic density, spawn rules, police presence and other parameters while you drive.
Pairing with the 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App)
The 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App) is the engine that powers traffic and pedestrian behavior at runtime. For Alpine Pass, these App features are particularly relevant:
- Traffic Density — set spawn density per zone — Alpine Pass works well with mid-to-high density on the highway and lower density on side roads.
- Traffic Features — toggle indicators, brake lights, lane changes and other behaviors that bring the AI cars on Alpine Pass to life.
- Performance Presets — if you run a busy car build, switch to a lighter preset — important on long open maps like Alpine Pass.
How to install
- Install 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App) (drag the App package into Content Manager).
- Install the base map: Alpine Pass.
- Place the included
traffic.jsoninto the track's/datafolder. - Launch Assetto Corsa, load the track in Practice mode, and open the 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App) in-game.
- Tune density, lane behavior and other settings from the in-game phone UI.
Things people ask
Does this mod require the 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App)?
Yes. The traffic and pedestrian behavior is driven by the 2REAL Traffic Tool (2REAL App). The mod ships the spline data; the App spawns and animates the AI at runtime.
Will it run smoothly on my system?
High-density traffic and pedestrians are GPU- and CPU-intensive. If you see frame drops on Alpine Pass, switch to a lighter performance preset in the App, or lower the density.
Do I need Content Manager to install this?
Content Manager is recommended (and what our install steps assume). It makes drag-and-drop installation of the App and base map straightforward. You can install the JSON files manually into the track's /data folder if you prefer.
What's the recommended traffic density for Alpine Pass?
Start with the App's default density and tune from there. On highway-heavy maps, mid-to-high density feels natural; on city maps, lower density with more police presence often feels more realistic. See Traffic Density for the full reference.
Where do I get help if installation fails?
